A red with very pretty berries, chocolate and hints of coffee. Medium body, medium chewy tannins and a flavorful finish. Thoroughly drinkable, as always. Delicious.

One of the best value wines in Tuscany, the 2018 Chianti Classico Rubiolo is a lovely Sangiovese with most of its fruit sourced from the estate's Panzano property and some from Castellina. In fact, this is one of a handful of wineries in the appellation that purposefully blends fruit from different townships. The wine is delicate and fresh with plenty of wild cherry and blue flower. It falls lightly onto the palate with silky, featherweight intensity. I would enjoy it with a porcini sauce on pasta.
