Chateau Laroque sits atop a limestone plateau where its imposing Chateau and tower have kept has watch over St. Emilion since the 12th century. With 800 years of winemaking history, today's wines are made with the most capable guidance of David Suire, along with Nicolas Thienpont of Chateaux Pavie-Macquin and Larcis-Ducasse – 2018 Chateau Laroque received 95-97 point scores from both Monica Larner of the Wine Advocate AND Jeb Dunnuck! Looking for serious value in a "second wine?" Les Tours de Laroque delivers. Loads of limestone minerality is expressed through these 50 year old vines which buttresses loads of expressive red and black Merlot fruit.

From 20% of the production, the 2016 Les Tours de Laroque is a beautifully elegant, silky second wine that has terrific cassis and black raspberries fruits, subtle tobacco and earthy mineral notes as well as a hint of spring flowers. Elegant, medium-bodied, seamless and incredibly silky, it will keep for a decade or more.

91 points, Jeb Dunnuck (Feb 2019)

Focused and pure aromas of blueberries and blackcurrants with plenty of flowers, such as violets. Full-bodied, firm and velvety with firm tannins and a flavorful finish. Drink from 2022.

90 points, James Suckling (Feb 2019)
