The 2010 Naoussa Reserve was aged for 16 months in mostly French oak (30% new and the rest second and third use) with 5% American (all used). It comes in at 13.25% alcohol. Showing beautiful texture and very fine balance, this has a real backbone and a velvety feel to go with its fine fruit, complex flavor medley, slightly earthy demeanor and very good mid-palate concentration. It somehow manages to seem powerful, but harmonious and concentrated, but elegant. Easily approachable, but intense and built to age well, too, this is a super value. It is one of the best intersections between value and quality of the many fine values submitted by the winery this issue. It also has some upside potential for the future.
