Light, bright straw. Vibrant Meyer lemon, peach and white flowers on the nose, with a brisk mineral quality adding lift. Fleshy orchard and pit fruit flavors show good depth, with a hint of citrus zest adding focus. Turns more plump on the back half, picking up a touch of smokiness and finishing with good sappy persistence. The fruit here was grown in the Cote des Blancs and Montgueux.

This chardonnay blends estate fruit from Montgueux in the Aube (60 percent) and Le Mesnil-sur-Oger in the Côte des Blancs. It’s a creampuff up front, fat and rich, then a bright herbal edge brings more precision to the finish. There’s a refreshing, chlorophyll-like greenness, which one taster described as sugar snap peas, which then led her to consider a match with a classic springtime dish of buttered pasta with peas.
