The 2018 Xynisteri also has a tiny proportion of Malaga blended in. It is all unoaked, dry and comes in at just 11.85% alcohol this year. Notwithstanding that, this seems solid in the mid-palate for its level. Then, its acidic core takes over, creating a bit of tension and finishing with a touch of grapefruit. Yet everything is well balanced and integrated. I'm not sure this is as deep as some years, but I liked its energy a lot, and it is wonderfully refreshing. It should have the acidic support to preserve it for a while, but it is probably best drunk in its first couple of years. Freshness is what it is all about.
