Perennially Boillot's Bourgogne Blanc is an outstanding bargain. Considering the provenance: 50% from Meursault and the balance from the villages of St. Romain and Auxey-Duresses all declassified and blended to achieve a wine that has good weight, length and intriguing aromatics. Henri, now joined in the cellar by his son Guillaume, still tends to the white wines. This "entry-level" white sets the bar rather high.

Good density, Meursault based, no doubt. Exotic aromatics from the north-facing slopes of Auxey-Duresses and vibrant acidity which I would attribute to St. Romain. Nice little recipe. Do try it at home!
