The 2016 Morey Saint Denis "Trilogie" comes from three parcels that conjoin premier crus and was cropped at 25 hectoliters per hectare from Chenevery, Clos Solon and Les Porroux. Blended with one-third whole bunch fruit, it offers intense blackberry, briary and light tobacco scents that blossom in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, pure and sorbet-fresh black fruit, a gentle grip in the mouth with superb tension on the crystalline finish. Superb, an outstanding Morey-Saint-Denis for its class.

Bright medium red. Deeper and more reticent on the nose than the Très Girard, offering dark cherry and underbrush notes. Then richer and saltier in the mouth, with its dark fruit flavors complicated by brown spices and saline minerality. Classically dry, solidly built village wine with noteworthy intensity and a rather silky, thick texture. Finishes firm, with substantial dusty tannins.
