Where are the bargains in 2015?
In particular, there is a huge amount of value to be had this vintage coming out of Fronsac, Saint-Émilion (especially grand cru level), Pomerol and their satellites as well as Pessac-Léognan. Apart from the fact that they enjoyed a pretty much ideal growing season, it is clear that these ACs have not been sitting on their laurels in recent years, and the amount of effort they have invested to up their games truly shines like a beacon this year. Sommeliers, restaurateurs and beverage directors around the world should have a field day purchasing 2015 wines from these areas at very reasonable prices and in abundance. As mentioned in my style comments above and below, stylistically there is something for everyone, and the quality across these areas in 2015 is reliably consistent.

The closest chateaux to Bouscaut in Cadaujac are Smith Haut Lafitte and Carbonnieux. Great density of fruit with some oak influence well integrated.
Solid 2015 bargain.

Initially toasty on the nose, this wine offers a pleasant black-fruit core which shows good oak integration. Its juicy black-currant flavors are just beginning to show on the structured palate, and as it fills out, the flavors will be seamless. Drink from 2024.

Stylish cedar and lightly toasted spices mingle with ripe cherries, blue plums and violets. The palate has a very supple and charmingly fleshy side to it. Boasts long tannins which draw flavors of ripe plums and dark cherries into the deep, suave finish. Impressive. Try from 2022.

Medium garnet-purple in color, the 2015 Bouscaut has an earth, tar and charcoal nose with a core of red and black currants and a waft of beef drippings. The medium-bodied palate has good intensity and depth with firm, grainy tannins, a lively backbone and great length.
