Good bright red. Reticent yet pungent aromas of redcurrant, loam, flinty minerality and blood orange. Vibrant and penetrating, with uncanny sappy energy to the red berry and mineral flavors. Dense but light on its feet; this has tightened up in a good way since I tried it from barrel last year. Finishes with terrific thrust. 93 Points, Stephen Tanzer's Int'l Cellar
The oak harmonizes well with the lavish cherry and berry fruit in this supple red. The tannins emerge on the finish, which is bright and long, with a lasting mineral element. Best from 2010 through 2020. 250 cases imported. 91 Points, The Wine Spectator (May 2009)
(from Les Rouges du Bas that is worked by horse because it is so steep) The majority of the wood this displayed from cask has been integrated, which now frames a reserved but highly spiced nose that also features ripe and complex red and blue pinot fruit that complements the rich, full and impressively powerful flavors that possess excellent volume and a lovely mouth feel on the long, serious, detailed and relatively austere finish that is notably dry. A big and very firm Ech that will need every bit of a decade to soften the supporting tannins. 91 Points, Allen Meadows' Burghound
