The wine is/was great! B‑21 lets you know the rating (and the prices which are usually great) so you know what you are getting. I also try to order on a free shipping day. This time it made me a little nervous since the wine box was 10 or so hours late. But it got here, which is what counts (all bottles intact). A local G‑Store has wine sales for 25% off but rarely have wine as good as B‑21's

Wild Turkey 101° 8yr Bourbon (750ml)

"Rich and mouth-filling—this is Jimmy Russell’s favored dram, and we can see why." - Whisky Advocate

For Bourbon fans, there's nothing like the limited releases from Wild Turkey and the famed Russell family, and every time a new one hits the market, there's a mad rush (and subsequent shortage). So, it was no exception last year when the distillery finally, after more than 30 years, released the 8 Year Old 101 Proof in the U.S. market. It's not necessarily a "new" release in the traditional sense, since it's been sold abroad since 1992. However, American bourbon aficionados had to go the extra few thousand miles to get their hands on it, until late last year.

The 101 Proof we all know and love is, of course, a blend of bourbons between six and eight years of age, and while that recipe hits for what it is, it is definitely not age-stated 8 Year Old, as this bottling more than proves. As Whisky Advocate notes, this was always Jimmy Russell's go-to, but now the blending is handled by the next generation, namely Associate Master Blender Bruce Russell, who brings his own fine touch and style to the finished product. The 8 Year Old offers plenty of classic Wild Turkey character in a version that's a clear step up over the NAS 101, yet it also offers a more approachable profile (and easier price tag) than the barrel-proof Rare Breed, so it slots in perfectly in the Wild Turkey range at its sub-$40 price.

The only problem is that the supplier keeps running out, and while we've assured that more is on the way, and that it will be a regular core item come 2027, that's a long time to wait, so you might as well get your hands on one now, and hedge your bets on one of the top bourbon value releases of 2025.

This aged-stated expression was long sold only abroad—until earlier this year, when it returned to the U.S. for the first time since 1992. Vanilla, tobacco, cigar ash, and warehouse floor on the nose. The well-proofed palate offers peanut oil, red berries, bananas, tobacco, and pepper spice. The finish is pleasantly long and full, creamy, and packed with spice. Rich and mouth-filling—this is Jimmy Russell’s favored dram, and we can see why.

Talk about an unbelievable coup de grâce for our direct-import portfolio! We are thrilled to announce our new domaine-direct relationship with Ambonnay's most dynamic and forward-thinking visionary, Benoît Marguet. You will seldom meet a vigneron more passionate about his craft and more confident in his methods than Benoît, and while his stellar Champagnes might give him ample reason for arrogance, he's anything but. After our domaine visit last October, we went all in on this singular grower.

Combine his almost obsessively meticulous viticulture with some of the finest vine holdings in Bouzy and Ambonnay and you get a range of wines that are simply gorgeous through and through, starting with his flagship 94-point Shaman. Based on the outstanding 2022 vintage, this grand cru blend is "a wonderful combination of fruit, roundness, and freshness" while also maintaining "intensity, power, and a salty structure."

The village grand Cru Ambonnay is itself a 95-point gem of the highest caliber, a "fragrant and very pretty" blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay that shows the multi-dimensional potential of both Marguet's vine holdings and his winemaking, but the true brilliance of the range lies in his single-vineyard showstoppers. Made and allocated in highly limited quantities, these are some of the most tranparent, terroir-expressive Champagnes on the market. The 96-point Les Bermonts comes from half-hectare of Chardonnay planted in 1952 on clay and limestone and is "a wine of marvelous harmony that knits everything together into a seamless fabric of the vineyard itself." Likewise, the double 95-point Les Crayeres displays "vivid, chalky aromatics of stunning purity" and a palate of "marvelous fruit intensity" where "the structure and textural vibrancy are just breathtaking."

Finally, the 96-point 2017 Sapience represents Marguet's appreciation for communal, like-minded growers who exhibit the same passion for their work. It's a blend of all three Champagne varietals, cultivated by growers with equally serious methods and repuations – Meunier from Vincent Laval in Cumières, Chardonnay from David Leclapart in Hautvilliers, and Pinot Noir from Marguet's own Ambonnay plots. A "wonderful, profound, lasting" wine of singular character, it's an expression in a category of its own.

This was indisputably the finest line-up top to bottom on our last trip to Champagne, and getting direct access to this cellar is one of the top three highlights of 2025 for our direct-import program, so any avid collector or fan of the most compelling grower Champagnes should dive deep into this selection without hesitation.

The NV Champagne Grand Cru Shaman 22 Brut Nature Rosé is a pale peach color and offers notes of raspberries, tangerines, and grapefruit. A very clean vintage of this wine, with the most Chardonnay, it has a lively, refreshing mousse, medium body, and a fruity, clean texture. The last glass always seems to be the best in these wines; they develop beautifully with time and air. Drink this over the next 10 years.

Grapefruit, raspberries and wildflowers on the nose, plus hints of lemongrass and gingseng. Very fresh, dry and lively, with tight bubbles and a delightfully refreshing finish. 76% chardonnay and 24% pinot noir, based on 2022. From biodynamically grown grapes with Demeter certification. When we tasted the Shaman at Marguet’s domaine in October, we knew right then that we were in for a truly exceptional line-up. Made of 64% Pinot Noir and 36% Chardonnay entirely from Marguet’s Ambonnay vineyards, the Shaman is easily one of our smartest buys in Grand Cru grower Champagne. We almost never see this level of artisan craftsmanship at this price. Bright, effusive, and thoroughly charming, this is a classic example of Marguet's style as well as the world-class quality of his work. The aromatics are dazzling and open right out of the gate, with punchy pink grapefruit, blood orange, raspberry, strawberry, and rhubarb. Minor notes of lemon zest and pure chalk play in excellent background tension with a soft, refined sur lie brioche character. The palate structure is so exquisitely balanced – just ripe enough, extremely juicy, perfectly delicate, offering waves of enticement with every sip. The fruit matches the nose note for note, with perhaps just a bit more concentration on the pink citrus element, while chalky undertones provide an uplifting foundation for the incredibly expressive fruit.

94 points, Andrew Kitz, B-21 Champagne Buyer (Dec 2025)

Coming solely from his own grapes in Ambonnay and Bouzy, the NV Champagne Grand Cru Shaman 22 Brut Nature sports a bright yellow/copper color. It offers plenty of richness along with purity and tension, featuring black fruit, black cherries, ripe citrus, grapefruit, and a chalky texture with length. The wine shows intensity, power, and a salty structure. It will be best enjoyed from 2025 to 2040.

Louis Roederer Champagne Collection 246 (750ml)
Sparkling from Champagne, France
B-21 Top Recommendation
Read More

"The NV Brut Collection 246 is positively stellar. It’s a terrific example of where Roederer is going with this cuvée stylistically." - Antonio Galloni, Vinous

Begun a few years ago as a bold step in a new direction by one of Champagne's most revered houses, Roederer's Collection Series is now a full-fledged fan-favorite that hits every mark with each new release.

Created to replace Roederer's non-vintage Brut in 2017, the Champagne Collection series labels each release with a unique ascending number akin to Krug's non-vintage Grande Cuvée. Chef de Cave Jean-Baptiste Lecaillon crafted the fifth-release Collection 246 from 54% Chardonnay, 35% Pinot Noir and 11% Pinot Meunier. Sourced evenly from Roederer's La Riviere, La Montagne, and La Côte estates, the Collection 246 includes 35% perpetual reserve wines created in 2012 that are stored in stainless steel and topped off every vintage, along with 10% from previous years and young plots on the Cristal estate aged in French oak foudres. The remaining 55% from 2021 grapes was fermented mostly in stainless steel with 15% in oak, the final blend then aged for four years in bottle on the lees, yielding remarkable complexity in a non-vintage Champagne. Wine Spectator calls it "a harmonious Champagne that shows impeccable balance, with depth and focus." Its mouthwatering, textured fruit is beautifully balanced by lively acidity that finishes long on a steady stream of finely beaded bubbles, making for a marked departure in style from what most grand marque houses seek in their non-vintage cuvées.

From "one of the most ambitious and exciting producers in Champagne, big or small" according to Galloni, the Collection 246 is crafted by one of the region's most talented winemakers with the same meticulous attention to detail as the house's legendary tête de cuvée Cristal, delivering benchmark class and quality at its price point.

93JD 93V 93WS 93JS 92D

The NV Champagne Collection 246 is fantastic and has refreshing nerve, with more citrus, pure lemon curd, white grapefruit, and white peach. Medium-bodied, it floats through the palate, with a refined mousse and fantastic fresh acidity.

93+ points, Audrey Frick, Jeb Dunnuck (Dec 2025)

The NV Brut Collection 246 is positively stellar. It’s a terrific example of where Roederer is going with this cuvée stylistically. Brisk saline notes cut through a core of orchard fruit, mint, white pepper and slate. There are no hard angles or awkward contours. The 246 is based on 2021, an extremely tricky vintage for Champagne. Chef de Caves Jean-Baptiste Lécaillon bumped up the percentage of Chardonnay considerably and focused on Pinots from the Montagne de Reims. About 30% of the lots underwent malolactic fermentation to soften the edges. Twenty-four percent of the wines were fermented in oak, the rest in tank. The 246 is a blend of 55% base 2021 vintage wines described above, plus 30% perpetual reserve going back to 2012 (mostly from Cumières, Vertus and Verzy) in tank and 10% young-vine juice from Cristal plots aged in cask. The final blend is 54% Chardonnay (as opposed to the more typical 44%), 35% Pinot Noir and 11% Meunier. Dosage is 7 grams per liter. More importantly, the 246 is impeccably done and absolutely delicious.

93 points, Antonio Galloni, Vinous (Apr 2025)

A harmonious Champagne that shows impeccable balance, with depth and focus to its flavors of white cherry, Honeycrisp apple, tangerine peel and biscuit, while retaining vibrancy and grace. A chalky underpinning comes to the fore on the creamy finish, joining delicate spice and floral accents. Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Meunier. Drink now through 2030. 14,355 cases imported.

93 points, Alison Napjus, Wine Spectator (Dec 2025)

This has pretty and elegant aromas of pears, apple blossoms, grapefruit and chalk. It’s silky, fresh and beautifully balanced on the palate, with very soft bubbles. Based on 2021, with reserve wine from a perpetual reserve created in 2012, plus reserve wines kept in oak from 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017. Drink now.

93 points, Claire Nesbitt, James Suckling (Jul 2025)

Roederer’s multi-vintage, multi-regional blend is named for its 246th harvest and that experience is notable here. Subtly complex, this elegant Champagne combines delicately balanced notes of apple blossom, spiced pear, citrus peel and brioche with a lightly chalky mouthfeel.

Lochlea Our Barley Single Malt Scotch Whisky
From Ayrshire, Lowlands, Scotland
B-21 Top Recommendation
Read More

"The flagship Our Barley is about as fan-friendly as a whisky can get, and although it’s hard to look past the super-stylish packaging, once you get into the juice itself, you’ll be hooked." - Andrew Kitz, B-21 Spirits Buyer

One of the more exciting yet under-the-radar rising stars in the Scotch scene, Lochlea should (and probably will) be on every single malt fanatic's list of must-try discoveries in short order. Founded in 2018, they've already racked up some impressive critical accolades across their range, and as the distilling team hits their stride, there's no telling how high their star will climb. As B-21's Andrew Kitz declares, "If you’re looking for a new, boutique single-malt distillery to go nuts over, here’s your champion."

The Lochlea property itself, once belonging to the immortal Scottish poet Robert Burns, was historically a cattle farm, and that's what owners Neil and Jen McGeoch had in mind when they purchased it in 2006. However, it was soon apparent that cows wouldn't cut it financially, and they turned to the property's other historical cash crop. Now, 50 acres of malting barley are the backbone of this grain-to-glass operation, with the old cattle-farming structures and facilities converted into a modern, functioning distillery in 2016.

Long-time Laphroaig master distiller John Campbell set the standards with the first batches, and that uncompromising quality is now seen across the board in every release. You'll no doubt see more from this fabulous, bootstrapped project in the near future, but the flagship Our Barley is the perfect dram to sink your teeth into as you fall in love with a true star in the making in boutique Scotch whisky.

93AK 92WHA

If you’re looking for a new, boutique single-malt distillery to go nuts over, here’s your champion. The pedigree in all of Lochlea’s expressions is undeniable, and it’s clear that they take their craft, from the fields to the distillery, very seriously. A blend of first-fill oloroso casks, STR barriques, and ex-bourbon barrels, the flagship Our Barley is about as fan-friendly as a whisky can get, and although it’s hard to look past the super-stylish packaging, once you get into the juice itself, you’ll be hooked. The nose is just flat-out pretty in the most comforting way. Apricot, ripe peach, cobbler crust, and orange marmalade are front and center, with additional nuances of sweet cereals, candied/caramel apple, sweet flowers, and macadamia nuts completing the dessert-in-a-glass aromatic profile. The palate is every bit as gorgeous and charming, with those same apricot and peach notes augmented by sweet peppers, cream soda, sarsparilla, and all kinds of chocolate variations. The broad, expansive mouthfeel needs no water, so you can dive right in, all the way through a finish of ripe red fruit and chocolate-covered raisins. Founding distiller John Campbell (the long-time mastermind at Laphroiag) set the bar high at the outset, and the team at Lochlea are more than living up to those lofty expectations.

93 points, Andrew Kitz, B-21 Spirits Buyer (Aug 2025)

An array of stone fruits on the nose, showing up as peach cobbler, apricot marmalade, and pear slices. There’s spice, too, with hints of cinnamon and nutmeg, as well as vanilla frosting, matcha powder, and lemon peel. The palate is rich and creamy, and chocolate takes the stage—cocoa powder, chocolate pudding, mocha latte, and Nutella. That chocolate shines even brighter on the finish, where it’s joined by a hint of ripe berry fruit and raisin.

Jacquesson Cuvee 747 (750ml)
Chardonnay from Champagne, France
B-21 Top Recommendation
Read More

"[Jacquesson] is poised to continue producing Champagnes with exceptional freshness and crystalline textures. The range is impressively consistent, and each cuvée beautifully reflects the soul and the distinct terroirs of this house based in Dizy." - Yohan Castaing, Wine Advocate

Consistency is indeed the name of the game at this long-time fan favorite of B-21. Jacquesson's star rose to new heights under the lengthy ownership of the Chiquet brothers, and since its acquisition by the François Pinault juggernaut (owner of Chateau Latour, Clos de Tart, and Napa iconic Eisele Vineyard) in 2022, there have been no signs that anything is any different.

The newly arrived Cuvée 747 is exemplary of this flagship bottling in many ways, but the higher inclusion of Pinot Noir in this 2019-base rendition gives it a notably more intense personality than in previous years. Earning 96 points from James Suckling, it's "a structured and creamy-textured Jacquesson NV with a very fine-bubble texture and lovely polish ... medium- to full-bodied with length and sophistication." Showing the genius of the Chiquet brothers in transparent clarity, the 747 is "an edition that closely reflects the character of the vintage, marked by its tension and phenolic complexity" according to Yohan Castaing, and given the tension, textural depth, and structural foundation from the increased presence of the Pinot Noir, this is set for a wonderful evolution in the cellar over the next several years.

Not to be overlooked, we still have a small amount of the luxurious 746. Based on the warm, solar vintage of 2018, it's "plush with showy red fruit that shimmers amid a vibrant acid energy that brings loads of freshness to the long finish." The 746 will provide a fascinating juxtaposition to the more linear, stately 747, so you can have repeated enjoyment comparing the two side by side for years to come.

96JS 93WA 93JD 93V

A structured and creamy-textured Jacquesson NV with a very fine-bubble texture and lovely polish. It's medium- to full-bodied with length and sophistication, in a friendly and approachable way. Yet there is something that tells you it's going to deliver more with aging. More pinot in the blend than in other years, because the chardonnay was affected by frost, and it is impressive. Chewy at the end with phenolic tension and a slight bitterness, though in a good way. 2019 base. Three years on the yeast. Dosage 1.5g/L. Drink or hold.

96 points, James Suckling (Jul 2024)

Based on the 2019 vintage, the NV Extra-Brut Cuvée No. 747 reveals a lively, delicate bouquet of white pepper, tangerine, lemon oil, herbs and red berries mingled with lovely menthol notes. Medium to full-bodied, tense and sappy, it's layered with a vinous core of fruit and a delicately saline finish. This is not the most opulent iteration from this house but rather an edition that closely reflects the character of the vintage, marked by its tension and phenolic complexity.

93+ points, Yohan Castaing, Wine Advocate (Oct 2024)

Based on the 2019 vintage, the NV Champagne Cuvée 747 pours a golden straw hue, and the nose is quite expressive and powerful immediately on opening, with notes of ripe red plum fruit, savory broth, and wet stone. Full-bodied, assertive, and warming on the palate, with a strong personality and savory umami notes through the finish, it’s perfect to pair with roast chicken and root vegetables. Great autumnal feel.

93 points, Audrey Frick, Jeb Dunnuck (Dec 2024)

The NV Extra-Brut Cuvée No. 747 (2019 base) marries textural richness with notable vibrancy. Lemon confit, mint, white pepper, tangerine peel and graphite lend energy throughout. All the elements are very nicely balanced. I especially admire the textural depth here. Spring frost was particularly damaging to the Chardonnay, so the blend is distinctly Pinot-leaning in this release.

J.M. Terroir Volcanique Rhum Agricole
From Martinique, France
B-21 Top Recommendation
Read More

One of the most fascinating aspects of the rum world is the mind-boggling variety of styles that result from virtually every step in the production process. In the case of the J.M Rhum Agricole Terroir Volcanique, it's a combination of features that produce an uncommonly singular profile for its sub-$35 price point.

It starts with J.M.'s sugar cane, grown entirely on the distillery's estate in the heavily volcanic soils of the slopes of Mt. Pelée, Martinique's landmark mountain and the heart and soul of the J.M. distillery. It continues with the distillery's Creole copper column still, and finishes with Master Blender Karine Lassalle's innovative double-barreling regimen. The new make is first subjected to re-charred, used bourbon barrels then finished in heavy "alligator char" ex-rum barrels, all of which results in a distinctively complex spirit that still retains the youthful signature of cane juice base.

The 96-point Terroir Volcanique offers up "more fun and intrigue than should be possible in a rum at this price point," as B-21 Spirits Buyer Andrew Kitz notes. With plenty of fruit-forward charm to go around, the Terroir Volcanique also asserts the barrel character and its volcanique origins in a firm, smoky minerality that balances the luxurious rhum agricole flavors and aromas. It's a rum made for sipping, but it's bound to add layers of nuance to all your favorite tiki cocktails as well. And now at a market-best price under $35, it's easy to go big and make it a staple in your home bar.

Orange peel and toasted almond lead the nose. The lively palate offers lots of vanilla and caramel up front, drying into hints of leather and cigar wrapper. The finish shows a faint but refreshing bell pepper-like vegetal exhale.

"A giant of a whisky ... Highland Park Cask Strength Batch #4 combines power and intensity with expressive subtlety." - Jonny McCormick, Whisky Advocate

Single malt fans need no introduction to Highland Park or their 2023 #2 Whisky of the Year, the Cask Strength Batch #4. This powerhouse expression from master blender Gordon Motion blew the doors off the collectible Scotch scene when it first hit the market, and its status was further confirmed when it notched 95 points from Advocate along with that #2 honor.

Motion went way outside the box with this batch, using a highly varied, unconventional mix of finishing casks to create a flavor and aroma profile that is singular in every way. The signature here is his rare use of port pipes as part of the finishing regimen, adding "a daring new streak of flavor," as noted by McCormick. It's a "stellar accomplishment" any way you look at it, and now we have it at a remarkable, market-leading price, but only for a limited time and while supplies last. Once it's gone, it's gone for good.

95WHA #2 Top 20

A giant of a whisky, with the highest proof ever on our Top 20 list, Highland Park Cask Strength is about more than just high-octane thrills. Unencumbered by an age statement, master whisky maker Gordon Motion was free to paint Batch 4 with flavor in mind, using a vivid palette of sherry-seasoned European and American oak, bourbon, and refill casks, then in a twist, adding port casks for a daring new streak of flavor. In the distillery’s 225th year, Motion’s stellar accomplishment integrates expressive notes of pink grapefruit and exotic spices within a deep well of citrus, dark chocolate, and heathery peat smoke.

Glenglassaugh Sandend Single Malt Scotch Whisky

"It’s gentle yet complex, but above all it’s an easy sipper you can just sit back and enjoy." - David Fleming, Whisky Advocate

Highland's Glenglassaugh has always been under the radar of most single malt drinkers and whisky fans, as the distillery itself has sat dormant for long stretches of its 150-year history, but since being revived in 2008 and purchased in 2016 by spirits giant Brown-Forman, and after years of gearing up production, reinvestment, and stockpiling juice, the brand's trajectory has taken off, culminating their Sanded bottling's shock win for Whisky Advocate's #1 Whisky of 2023. As David Fleming puts it, "now Glenglassaugh is ready to roll, and judging by this stellar release, patience is being rewarded in spades."

The distillery bills its whiskies as "coastal malts," and that moniker is pretty much a perfect fit for this stylish, approachable, yet eminently intriguing profile. Aged in ex-bourbon, manzanilla, and sherry casks and blended by Rachel Barrie (the masterful hand behind the malts of BenRiach), the Sandend is "bright and delicate" on the nose, leading to "a luscious palate ... [with] an explosive and long-lasting finish." The WOTY honors for Sanded may have been your first introduction to Glenglassaugh, but it's safe to say they're on everyone's radar now. Best of all, our new, limited-time, razor-sharp pricing on the Sandend makes it easy to get fully on board with this single malt rising star.

Glenglassaugh Distillery is situated on the north coast of Scotland, perched upon high ground overlooking the North Sea. The whisky is often described as a “coastal” Highland malt, which seems a fair assessment. This non-age statement expression, named for the bay offshore, is bright and delicate, with aromas of citrus and minerality leading to a luscious palate filled with layers of flavor revealing peach, apricot, honey, pound cake, and vanilla, all accented with a touch of sea salt. Rolling spices help create an explosive, long-lasting finish. It’s gentle yet complex, but above all it’s an easy sipper you can just sit back and enjoy.

Chairman's Reserve 16yr Florida Rum Society Single Cask Rum
From Saint Lucia
B-21 Top Recommendation
Read More

"Just a bang-on classic in well-aged, molasses-based rum, and for a steal at that." - Andrew Kitz, B-21 Spirits Buyer

We've loved every Florida Rum Society cask we've brought in so far, and this 16 Year Old from Chairman's Reserve was no exception. We'd been out of stock for a while, as we thought the cask was sold out, but in a lucky turn of events, Trader Jay from Florida Rum Society informed us that the importer had recently switched distributors and had to reacquire some stock to make the transition. The best part? They offered us an unbelievable price that allows our rum fanatics to load up at over 50% off the original SRP.

The 16-Year-Old "Five Years of Rum Friends" Cask was selected by FRS to celebrate their fifth anniversary, but also to give a nod to Chairman's, with whom they've had a great relationship since the beginning.

And it wasn't just finished in the port pipe. It spent all 16 years resting there in the tropical climate of St. Lucia, so the deep, evolved complexity of this cask is firing on all cylinders. This is a superb examples of Chairman's renowned stylistic combination of sweet and savory running side by side, as there's is plenty of rustic spice and wood character to complement the dense, black-fruited influence of the port cask. The robust yet medium-weight palate is all dark intrigue too, especially after some air and a few drops of water. If you're a fan of broad-shouldered, brawny rums that take no prisoners, this 16 Year Old gem is right up your alley.

93AK

Chalk this one up to dumb luck and great timing. When the importer switched distributors, this excellent 16 Year Old got lost in the mix, and when we were offered a chance to jumpstart it at an unheard-of discount, it was a no-brainer. FRS picked this single port cask to celebrate their five-year anniversary, as they’ve had a fruitful relationship with St. Lucia Distillery and Chairman’s from the very beginning. It pours a gorgeous, medium chestnut color with flecks of crimson. The aromas hit on a broad scale with real immediacy, as notes of furniture polish, varnish, dark molasses, walnut paste, and marzipan come in waves. The port cask influence gives background hints of dried black cherry and plum, as secondary waves of beef jerky, chocolate fudge, fresh vanilla pod, butterscotch, and balsamic reduction play out in the signature Chairman’s sweet-savory style. The palate is a heater, so give it some air and a few drops. The medium-weight mouthfeel throws a curveball, but the flavor profile is no shocker – deep cola and wood spices, cooked dark fruits, clove, and anise. A potent but balanced tannic structure runs from the mid-palate to the finish, as additional flavors of walnut sawdust, apple pie (crust and filling), and teriyaki barbecue carry on at length. Just a bang-on classic in well-aged, molasses-based rum, and for a steal at that.

"This almost 9-year-old single barrel is a picture-perfect showcase of the Barton style and master distiller Ken Pierce’s skill with high-rye mashbills."

- Andrew Kitz, B-21 Spirits Buyer

Sazerac's Barton distillery may not have nearly the cachet of its sister facility, Buffalo Trace, but it's nonetheless the source of some stellar, powerhouse expressions under the 1792 label. We selected barrel #927 for its unabashedly spicy, full-proof character, as we felt it delivered all the hallmark features that make 1792 such a savvy choice among connoisseurs of the high-rye style.

As mentioned, it starts off with a huge, spice-driven personality but there's no shortage of luxury here either. Bombastic, dark fruits take center stage with a little air and water, with the rye notes playing a fabulous counterpart to all that opulence. At almost nine years old, the whiskey carries its massive 125 proof with incredible ease and sophistication, hardly showing any heat and rough edges you might expect at that level. Best of all, it's an absolute steal and a true testament to the razor-sharp value available under the 1792 label, especially in a category that has seen other single-barrel bottlings shoot through the roof in terms of pricing.

93AK 92WHA

The Barton distillery is the hidden gem in the Sazerac stable, with almost everyone else gravitating towards Buffalo Trace. But the high-rye powerhouses under the 1792 label are always on the radar of bourbon fans seeking that style. This 9-year-old single barrel is a picture-perfect showcase of the Barton style and master distiller Ken Pierce’s skill with high-rye mashbills. The nose leads with big spice in the form of Red Hot candies, cinnamon, cherry cola, juniper berry, and cherry liqueur. There’s a touch of heat from the full cask proof, but nothing harsh, and a few drops of water bring out more nuanced aromas of smoked paprika, autumn leaf litter, blackcurrant, cedar, apple cider, apple pie, burnt pie crust, and red pepper flake. The palate is just as complex as the nose but in a decidedly darker tone. Black cherry syrup leads the flavor profile, with variations of kirsch, juniper berry, blackberry, and mulberry making for an opulent mix. The tangy texture is balanced by a weighty mid-palate that rounds out and expands with water, while a nice tannic grip gives structure to secondary notes of black pepper, black licorice, and cinnamon candies. The persistent finish isn’t particularly hot but still packs a punch with a firm minty/menthol streak mingling with fine, charred minerality. It’s not subtle by any means, but it’s loads of fun.

93 points, Andrew Kitz, B-21 Spirits Buyer (Aug 2025)

No age statement on the label, but aged for 8 1/2 years. Bottled at the same ABV as its entry proof into the barrel. Lush and mouth-coating. A pleasingly sweet bourbon, with caramel, nougat, and chewy toffee, mixed with ripe orchard fruit, golden raisin, and creamy vanilla. Soothing finish. A wonderful way to end a meal. (With a cigar, perhaps?) This is a beautiful bourbon and a great value given its quality, ABV, and price.

Bollinger Brut Champagne Special Cuvee (750ml)
Sparkling from Champagne, France

There are Grandes Marques, "Mini-Marques," and then there are the TRULY grande marques. Bollinger is so grande (so important) that the most famous quotes on Champagne are attributed to its most endearing owner. Lily Bollinger was not only the most important character in the story of Bollinger, she remains its most charismatic.

The technical side of Bollinger – the unmatched level of investment in every bottle produced – is every bit as important as Lily's story. Stepping into the cellars of Bollinger will take your breath away. Imagine the greatest collection of Champagne you could ever hope to personally witness in one place. Imagine magnums of the most pristine, Grand Cru Champagne – bottled under cork – resting there before your eyes. How many bottles would it take for you to think, "Holy bubbles, Batman, that's a LOT of Champagne?"

In the cellars of Bollinger rests 600,000 magnums (100,000 cases) of Champagne reserves. It is this massive – truly mind-boggling – stash of reserves which contributes to the unmatched quality and consistency of the Bollinger Special Cuvée. The master blending performed which results in the richness, the depth and full body we love in Bollinger includes 50% of these reserve wines, some of which are up to 15 years of age. This Bollinger Special Cuvée you're buying today contains a healthy percentage of reserve wine from the vintage of 2000.

Moreover, in keeping with the historical Bollinger tradition and winemaking style – the style Lily championed across Europe – the Special Cuvée is vinified in seasoned oak barrels of varying size, shape and age. This barrel vinification is followed by another three years of aging on the fine lees, a process absolutely unmatched across the region. It's a time-consuming, laborious, expensive process that's driven by passion; as only Lily Bollinger would have had it.

Lily took over the estate upon her husband's passing in 1941 and is celebrated for greatly expanding the estate's vineyard holdings as well as the soaring popularity during her time as director and beyond. Recalling her arrival to London to declare her 1955 vintage, a reporter made public Lily Bollinger's reply when asked how much she enjoyed her own product. I think of it every day, or least every day I have a bottle of Bollinger:

"I drink my Champagne when I'm happy and when I'm sad. Sometimes I drink it when I'm alone. When I have company I consider it obligatory. I trifle with it if I'm not hungry and drink it when I am. Otherwise I never touch it - unless I'm thirsty."
–Elizabeth "Lily" Law de Lauriston-Boubers Bollinger

One of the finest Bollinger Special Cuvée bottlings to date, with my price making it that much finer:

Alambique Serrano La Sociedad Florida Rum Society Cask Rum (750ml)
From Oaxaca, Mexico

"Not one for the faint of heart, it's a big, brash powerhouse that challenges the established rum conventions in the best possible way." - Andrew Kitz, B-21 Spirits Buyer

If you're a rum fanatic, Florida is where you want to be - after all, we're America's gateway to the tropics. The Florida lifestyle is fully in sync with tiki culture, and nobody celebrates it better than the Florida Rum Society, a group of industry professionals and hardcore rum aficionados on a mission to bring this remarkable spirit into the mainstream. Part of that mission is hand-selecting truly distinctive single casks from all over the rum world to showcase the incredible stylistic diversity and singular character of this beloved spirit. While many of their selections hail from some of the category's most well-known and distinguished names (think Worthy Park, Hampden, Planteray, Rhum Clement, Holmes Cay, etc.), they have a knack for unearthing some unbelievable, under-the-radar finds that will broaden the horizons of even the most seasoned rum veteran. Today's offer fits that bill and then some.

Mexico's Alambique Serrano may not be a household name, but the craftsmanship and work ethic of this third-generation distillery are undeniable, leading to La Sociedad, the very first FRS single-cask selection from "south of the border." Founded in the early 1930s in Oaxaca by German immigrant Max Krassel, Alambique Serrano is now run by Max's four grandsons, who still put in the same kind of arduous work their grandfather did when he began producing his aguardiente in the village of Santa Maria Tlalixtac high in the Oaxacan cloud forest. The cane fields here are so steep that the brothers harvest and transport the cane by donkey, horse, and mule to a mobile trapiche for milling, before gravity-feeding the cane juice down the mountain to the palenque, a labor of love if there ever was one. After fermenting in an open-top pine vat with ambient yeasts and distilling on a rustic, copper alembic still, the spirit was aged for two years in virgin French oak in dry conditions over 5,600 feet above sea level. The result is an 11 on the intensity scale, a full cask-strength stunner that's unlike anything else we've ever come across in the rum category. If you're looking to take your rum collection to the next level, this cask and the several other FRS cask selections available on our website are unequivocal must-try specimens for anyone who's serious about the world's best rum.

93AK

The first Mexican rum ever selected by the Florida Rum Society for their private cask series, this is a true heater in every sense. It’s bottled at full cask strength, so it really comes together with a few drops of water or a cube. Distilled from pure cane juice grown at high elevation, the La Sociedad cask was aged two years in virgin French oak, which the spirit carries very well. The light amber color is flecked with veins of orange, a real treat for the eye that leads to a very intense nose – give it plenty of air at the first pour as it’s quite hot. Defined by the barrel influence at first, the aromas segue into a fascinating interplay of fresh orchard fruits, cooked tropical fruits, and ripe rhubarb sitting against a backdrop of vanilla pod, canela stick, and pie crust. The first taste reflects the heat of the nose as well as the intense spice character, which gives way to sweet peppers and agave-like high tones with a medicinal edge. Time in the glass tames the intensity, and a truly compelling, layered profile emerges – spiced chocolate and Mexican wedding cookies on the nose, both mirrored on the palate by flavors of sugar cookie, macarons, and rich chocolate custard. Not one for the faint of heart, it’s a big, brash powerhouse that challenges the established rum conventions in the best possible way.

If you've been a fan of Spanish wine over the past ten years or so, you've probably been waiting for Albariño to get the attention it deserves on the world stage, and while it still takes a back seat to Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and the like, the best examples are still shining brightly and only getting better with each passing vintage.

La Caña has long been a benchmark producer of this one-of-a-kind varietal, working with top-notch sites in the Salnès sub-zone of Rías Baixas, widely considered ground zero for the most quintessential expressions. Year after year, their entry-level bottling far outperforms its price point in the critical press, with all the customary bright citrus and tropical fruit, vibrant acidity, and textured charm that Albariño aficionados have come to know and love. While the 2024 has yet to be reviewed professionally, we recently got a chance to try it with importer Jorge Ordoñez, and we can confidently say this rendition picks up right where previous vintages have left off, with more glowing praise no doubt in store in the near future. As Mosel Fine Wines declared, "2024 yielded stunningly light-footed wines with a rarely seen combination of inner density and precision ... a must-go-to vintage for lovers of classic and ethereal Mosel lightness and elegance!" The conditions overall favored the Kabinett wines, and we're thrilled to introduce a new estate to the B-21 fold with the epic, 98-point 2024 Günther Steinmetz Wintricher Gaierslay Kabinett.

"...a breathtakingly complex wine. Super-refined and incredibly long." - Stuart Piggott, JamesSuckling.com

Situated just above the famed Ohligsberg vineyard, arguably the finest in the village of Wintrich, the Gaierslay vineyard shares most of the features of its neighbor, including blue and grey slate soils interspersed with quartz, endowing the wines with a brilliant push-pull of ripe fruit and gentle minerality. Stefan Steinmetz is quickly making a name for himself as the most talented exponent of this stretch of the Mosel, and the 2024 Gaierslay Kabinett proves his mettle with its absolutely stunning character, with lush fruit tones "perfectly married to dazzling slatey acidity." Anne Krebiehl of Vinous was also spellbound by its "quintessential Kabinett style" to the tune of 97 points. An off-dry style with a perfect combination of acid and residual sugar, it "leaves no doubt that you have tasted something absolutely authentic." For Riesling fans and collectors, the world's most famous region delivers the goods again in a mind-boggling combination of class and value.

98JS 97WE

Such amazingly intense Mirabelle plum and Amalfi lemon flavors are packed into this light-bodied Mosel Kabinett. All this fruit is nearly perfectly married to dazzlingly slatey acidity to create a breathtakingly complex wine. Super-refined and incredibly long finish. Drink or hold.

98 points, Stuart Pigott, James Suckling (Sep 2025)

The 2024 Riesling Wintricher Geierslay Kabinett is like wet slate on the nose. It is salty and so stony, with a touch of smoky reduction. The palate adds a note of apple flesh. Raciness and brightness come together and drive down into the stone and fruit tones. The super svelte palate is a dream. The 2024 has a kind of quintessential Kabinett style. The finish is endless, leaving you in no doubt that you have tasted something absolutely authentic. The 2024 is incredibly incisive. Its 11.5 g/L of killer acidity meets around 40 g/L of residual sugar. (Off-dry)

2024 Domaine Coursodon Saint Joseph Silice Blanc (750ml)
Marsanne from Saint-Joseph, Rhône, France

We're absolutely thrilled to announce a new direct-import relationship with one of the undisputed stars of the Northern Rhône. Domaine Coursodon has been at the very pinnacle of the St-Joseph appellation for the better part of two decades, and their wines represent some of the savviest buys and most artfully crafted renditions in the entire region. When we tasted the range of 2023s at this year's Vinexpo/Wine Paris, we knew we had to get them into our stable.

While each and every expression was a surefire winner, the 2023 l'Olivaie is emblematic of what the domaine does best. It has already garnered 93-95 points from Jeb Dunnuck, who notes, "The overall balance and purity here are exceptional." B-21 Rhone Buyer Andrew Kitz echoes that sentiment, praising the wine as "superbly polished and poised without seeming 'constructed', a precise representation of vintage, terroir and domaine style – in short, an archetypal St-Joseph."

92JD 90V

A brilliant white with a kiss of subtle clean reduction, the 2024 Saint Joseph Silice Blanc offers tart quince and honeyed orange-like fruit as well as sappy flowers, spice, and chalky minerality. It's medium-bodied, clean, pure, and impeccably balanced, with solid concentration and integrated acidity. This impressive Saint-Joseph blanc should drink well over the coming 3-5 years. Drink 2026-2031.

92 points, Jeb Dunnuck (Feb 2026)

The 2024 Saint-Joseph Blanc Silice introduces aromas of a marked flinty streak, accompanied by lemon flesh, yellow apple, elegantly lifted cedar and pastry. Medium-bodied and fresh, the 2024 is a delicious Saint-Joseph Blanc Silice, closing off with vivacity and lifted crispness on the sapid finish.

The Avril family, their renowned parcels planted adjacent to the ruins of the old papal towers in Chateauneuf-du-Pape, have been consistently bottling brilliant wines for decades. Among my very favorites – my personal collection spans multiple vintages – these are wines of unmistakable breed and character; a complete joy to experience. Originally established in the 18th century, their primary parcel is augmented by seventeen old vine plots throughout the appellation, adding further dimension to a wine already at the very highest levels of quality. Over the last few vintages, my notes indicate ever improved character. Paul-Vincent has bottled even more in a long line of rock stars. Draconian selections followed daily passes through each of his parcels, painstakingly clipping each vine for nothing but the very finest berries.

98D 96WA

Limeflower, fennel and almond; bright and straight. Touch of grapefruit citrus bitters on the palate, which is tight and direct. Lovely mineral, saline touch on the finish, along with a bit of oatmeal. Great energy and intensity, good now, will be better from 2029. Equal parts Roussanne, Grenache Blanc, Clairette, Bourboulenc, Piquepoul and Picardan. No malolactic, fermented and aged in stainless steel.

98 points, Matt Walls, Decanter (Sep 2025)

Crafted from six different grape varieties in equal proportions, the 2024 Chateauneuf du Pape Blanc is exquisite, wafting from the glass with aromas of flowers, herbs, almonds, pear and peach. Medium- to full-bodied, round and sappy, it’s fleshy with a lively core of fruit, terrific mid-palate plenitude and a long, ethereal, somewhat chalky finish lifted by a beautiful bitterness and a saline aftertaste.

"Full-bodied, precise and pristine, with a silky texture and zesty acidity." - James Suckling

It seems Italy's white wine scene is getting better and better with each vintage, and you can now add the 95-point 2024 Capichera Vermentino Lintori to the list of the country's benchmark, native-grape expressions. Arguably the finest estate in Sardinia's Gallura DOCG.

The recent acquisition of the estate by Italian wine entrepreneur Carlo Campanini Bonomi has ensured that this iconic property not only remains a standard-bearer for the island, but that it takes its game to next level by staying true to its singular terroir. Bonomi considers the property to be one of great heritage, and it's his responsibility to carry that heritage forward. To that end, his extensive investments since his purchase are now paying off big time, as we clearly see in this riveting value performer. Harvested entirely from estate vineyards, the Lintori is quintessential Vermentino, with an intense mineral backbone balanced by full weight and texture.

The original vision of Capichera's founder is on full display in this latest rendition under the estate's new ownership - to produce the finest expressions of an Italian winemaking tradition that dates back a thousand years, and to position the estate as its global ambassador. Based on the 2024 Lintori, we'd say they're succeeding with flying colors.

2023 Xanadu Chardonnay (750ml)
Cabernet Sauvignon from Margaret River, Western Australia, Australia
B-21 Top Recommendation
Read More

As prices in Napa Valley continue to skyrocket, savvy collectors are turning to some far-flung reaches to get their hands on cult-caliber Cabernets and Chardonnays for prices that don't break the bank, and Australia's Margaret River is at the top of the pyramid in that regard. You may be familiar with iconic Leeuwin's Art Series, but Xanadu has been quietly keeping pace for years with their equally stunning line-up, headlined by the critically acclaimed Reserve bottlings.

At 97+ points, the 2022 Chardonnay Reserve is "a wine of profound complexity and length, yet it is steely, restrained and mineral in the extreme," writes Erin Larkin of Wine Advocate. The heavily maritime climate of the Wallcliffe sub-region that Xanadu calls home gives extra vibrancy and verve to an already racy style of Chardonnay that Margaret River is well-known for, as is confirmed by several glowing critical reviews in addition to Larkin's. A pair of 96-point reviews from Suckling and Halliday Wine Companion and 94 points from Vinous add icing to the cake. Likewise, the 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve notched 95+ points from Vinous' Angus Hughson, who writes, "all the signs point to something special" in this hallmark Margaret River expression. In other words, don't sleep for a second on this pair for a bona fide, world-class collectibles that can be had for a fraction of the price of similar bottlings from Napa or Burgundy.

At the opposite end of the price spectrum, the flagship wines present some of the greatest QPR expressions to be found anywhere in Australia, with massive scores across the board and under $30 each. The 95-point 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon is a "classic, polished Margaret River Cab" that demonstrates a "youthful, vibrant nature" today but will certainly cruise for a few years in the cellar. Also pulling in 95 points, the 2023 Chardonnay is "very focused and mineral-driven," demonstrating the excellent, cool-vintage potential of Margaret River Chard in this vintage. The electric, vibrant style of Xanadu means this is one for the cellar, and probably for much longer than you'd think, according to Wine Enthusiast's Christina Pickard.

It's not every day that you can find a pair of benchmark collectible and a pair of stellar QPR value stars in the same offer, let alone from the same producer, but today offers a chance for wine lovers of all stripes and budgets to load up on some overperforming all-stars at market-best pricing across the board.

95WE 94AWC 93JS 93JM

Bright crystalline citrus, peach and white floral notes open. Something more mineral, like crushed stones and chalk dust, comes next, and a whisper of something more lactic below. The palate offers a wonderful zing of vibrant acidity, tamed by some slippery texture. Juicy fruit and gentle spice flavors prickle on the long finish. Delicious now, but still young. There's several decade of life left in this beauty.

95 points, Christina Pickard, Wine Enthusiast (Mar 2025)

It’s nervy, energising and still finding its groove. It pulses, with vibrant acidity taking the lead over everything, although there’s still lemon and grapefruit flavours, spicy oak and superfine gossamer-like nutty lees. In another year, this will be more compelling.

94 points, Jane Faulkner, Halliday Wine Companion (Aug 2024)

The nose is very focused and mineral-driven, with aromas of lemon peel, gun smoke, white peaches and sea spray. The palate is medium-bodied with focused acidity and a generous texture, giving notes of grapefruit pith, salt brine and green papayas. A very minerally and steely structure that will soften nicely in the years to come. Drink or hold. Screw cap.

93 points, James Suckling (Oct 2024)

A reserved opening of melon to start before pithy white grapefruit, flint, green apple with some sweet cinnamon spice in support. Some air and warmth unlocks nougat, seaspray and a whisper of nectarine. The palate is quite taut, tensile and hightoned with a burst of grapefruit, salted lemon, subtle fine cedar, white nectarine and seaspray coiled within a tight line of pithy phenolics and saline acidity to good length. This is tight and fine with line, freshness and tension aching to unfurl. Drink from 2025-2029. Tasted Dec 2024.

The 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve is tightly wound and focused, yet all the signs point to something special. Brooding aromas of slate and gravel mingle with a hearty core of blackberry and wintergreens. "Vincent Paris continues to craft distinctive, age-worthy Cornas, as evidenced once again during my most recent visit..." - Nicolas Greinacher, Vinous

Our direct-import portfolio has taken some major steps in the past year and landed some big names, and now we can add Cornas icon Vincent Paris to that list. Thanks to some very fortuitous connections, we gained domaine-direct access to this perennial superstar producer and his benchmark wines. The outstanding 2023s have just landed in stock.

Made from Paris' younger parcels on 30% slopes (and now with vines almost 30 years old), the 96-point 2023 Granit 30 exhibits fantastic signature elements of its granitic soils, as well as Paris' ultrafine winemaker's touch. "This is always the most forward and approachable of Paris's cuvées and will put a smile on your face right out of the gate," declares Dunnuck. Paris' wines are renowned for their cellar potential, but that doesn't mean you can't pop and pour the Granit 30 tonight. After all, it's "an accessible Cornas that’s packed with remarkable energy and freshness all the way through," so stocking the cellar is an easy choice.

Next up, as the name suggests, the 97-point 2023 Granit 60 comes from three plots of old-vines on steep granite slopes, densely planted and low-yielding. Paris' winemaking methods are traditional yet meticulous, so he's able to showcase his prime terroir in crystal-clear fashion in each of his wines. There's tons of Cornas soul here, but the wines avoid the rustic, untamed nature that's sometimes associated with this appellation. Instead, we get ""a full-bodied 2023 that's beautifully balanced, elegant, and layered ... another smoking value from this incredibly talented vigneron." according to Dunnuck.

Finally, boasting serious press from prominent voices like Suckling, Dunnuck, and Vinous among others, the 98-point 2023 Geynale is an outstanding collectible proposition that ranks with the region's elite names. This magnificent showstopper, made from the oldest vines in two of Cornas' most prized sites, is "full-bodied on the palate, with ripe tannins, the classic, wild, sauvage character of the appellation, and a great finish," while Wine Spectator declares, "Massive in scale yet achieves perfect harmony between its ripeness, texture and energy."

We brought a staggering number of top-tier domaines into our direct-import fold in 2025, but Vincent Paris might just take the cake. These wines are built to age with incredible panache, so make room, stash a few away, and get ready to enjoy some of the most consistently excellent Northern Rhône Syrahs on the market.

A lively, bright and driven Saint-Joseph with lots of energy and freshness to the baked cherries, spiced plums and sweet spices on the nose. It's medium-bodied with fine tannins and a core of bright acidity that adds vitality and freshness. Fleshy and peppery character on the mineral finish. Drink or hold.

93 points, James Suckling (Apr 2025)

Always solid, the 2023 Saint Joseph Les Côtes has a more medium-bodied, focused, mineral-laced style as well as classic Saint Joseph blue fruits, violets, and peppery herb-driven aromatics. Completely destemmed and brought up in equal parts used oak and stainless steel, it's nicely balanced, has fine yet present tannins, and a great finish.

91-93 points, Jeb Dunnuck (May 2025)

The elegant 2023 Saint-Joseph Les Côtes introduces itself with a marked leafy streak, complemented by black cherry and graphite. Fresh violets add a floral perspective. Medium-bodied and refreshing, the 2023 provides vivid freshness and closes with moderate length on the uplifting finish. Although it is a fine effort, I have a clear preference for the more ambitious 2022.

Smoky and meaty, with intense wild herb character, this is classic Cornas, but with modern purity and precision. Giant concentration and brilliance on the very compact and still tightly wound, medium- to full-bodied palate. Extremely fine tannins. Even at this very early stage in the wine's life, the finish has tremendous spiciness. From a single parcel of 50-year-old vines. Drinkable now, but best from 2027.

98 points, Stuart Pigott, James Suckling (Apr 2025)

Beautiful nose, very lifted, with violets, black olive, blackberry and cassis. Has a good sense of fullness and ripeness on the palate – it's full, powerful, fresh and driving with a good, robust tannic frame and a long finish. It's not as massive as some years, but very well balanced. A Cornas with lovely finesse of fruit and enjoyably robust tannins. It doesn't have the concentration of the more powerful years, but it's still very good, and true to place. 100% whole bunches, no new oak.

96 points, Matt Walls, Decanter (Sep 2024)

The 2023 Cornas La Geynale is clearly a standout. Rocking levels of ripe red, blue, and black fruits, peppery herbs, violet, game, and rare meat-like aromatics all shine here, and it's full-bodied on the palate, with ripe tannins, the classic, wild, sauvage character of the appellation, and a great finish. Fermented with 100% whole clusters and aged in used oak, it's going to need 4-6 years of bottle age, but it's beautiful.

94-96+ points, Jeb Dunnuck (May 2025)

The seductive, intricate perfume of the 2023 Cornas La Geynale suggests that what comes next will be a total delight. Hauntingly floral, the 2023 showcases prominent rose water, violet and orange blossom mixed with raspberry compote, licorice and a touch of graphite. Full-bodied, powerful and deep, the 2023 simply says, "Watch me." I will!

A dense, juicy, textural and lively Cornas with notes of sweet cherries, raspberries, wild herbs and baking spices. It's medium-bodied with fine tannins providing a silky texture to the succulent fruit. Bright center-palate that’s full of tension and spicy energy, with peppercorns, wild herbs and stones. Mineral and vivid with a long, precise and pure finish. Drink or hold.

97 points, James Suckling (Apr 2025)

The 2023 Cornas Granit 60 is similar to the Granit 30, only with more density and intensity. Black raspberries, cassis, spring flowers, graphite, and subtle spicy, meaty nuances all shine here, and it's a full-bodied 2023 that's beautifully balanced, elegant, and layered. Partially destemmed (70%) and aged in used oak, it's going to be another smoking value from this incredibly talented vigneron.

94-96 points, Jeb Dunnuck (May 2025)

Granit 60 is considerably darker than Granit 30. This has lovely blackberry and cassis notes, with a touch of blackberry eau-de-vie. It has a good sense of ripeness, but finishes firm and dry on a solid base of tannin. A little texture comes from the stems, but overall this is about the fruit, which has good finesse. The finish is long. This is a compact – rather than massive – Cornas, but one with a good sense of balance and freshness. Drink young if you like Cornas tannins, or wait. One-third whole bunches, no new oak.

95 points, Matt Walls, Decanter (Sep 2024)

Juicy grapefruit, orange blossom, red plum, fresh violet and stemmy nuances introduce the 2023 Cornas Granit 60. Rose petal and graphite add more complexity. Built around well-rounded tannins, the 2023 is a full-bodied, seductive Cornas that shines with outstanding purity, freshness and complexity.

92-94 points, Nicolas Greinacher, Vinous (Jan 2025)

A seductive version, featuring licorice and spiced blackberry preserves with concentration and range. Violet perfume wafts through, while lashings of saline, smoked meat, tar and dried herbs make this equally savory. Richly styled and mouthfilling, with tannins nicely sculpted for a smooth feel. Drinking well now, but give this time in the cellar to fully reveal itself. Best from 2028 through 2040. 20 cases imported.

This wine redefines Cornas elegance. So much floral and fresh berry charm on the nose, yet so much mineral intensity and energy on the very focused, medium-bodied palate. The crystalline finish just doesn't want to stop. Drink or hold.

96 points, Stuart Pigott, James Suckling (Apr 2025)

The 2023 Cornas Granit 30 shows beautifully, with both red and blue fruits as well as leafy herbs, spice, and exotic floral notes. Coming from the lower slopes near the village, it's medium to full-bodied, has a pure, layered mouthfeel, ripe tannins, and a great finish. This is always the most forward and approachable of Paris's cuvées and will put a smile on your face right out of the gate.

91-93 points, Jeb Dunnuck (May 2025)

Shows classic Cornas muscle and aromatic character, with plum and smoked bacon notes revealing salty depth and energy. The tannins are nicely softened at the edges, while violet and lavender add beautiful floral lift. Cool stone minerality and white pepper course from start to finish. Elegant and serious. Drink now through 2040. 60 cases imported.

92 points, Kristen Bieler, Wine Spectator (Nov 2025)

This has a nice sense of freshness; there's a touch of roundness on the palate, the fruit is certainly ripe and the acidity quite marked. The Cornas tannins are present, giving a cleansing sensation on the tongue. Medium length, compact, ripe and juicy, this will drink well young. Almost all destemmed, perhaps 5% whole bunches. Tasted from a five-year-old barrel.

92 points, Matt Walls, Decanter (Sep 2024)

The 2023 Cornas Granit 30 is exquisite, unwinding with alluring rose water, blood orange, black cherry, licorice and stemmy subtleties. Round and refreshing, the 2023 is shaping up to be an accessible Cornas that’s packed with remarkable energy and freshness all the way through to the juicy finish.
