Christian Hermann's 2019 Riesling Trocken, tasted from AP 18 20 in May 2020, opens with spectacularly intense and ripe as well as dried yet slatey apricot fruit on the nose. Bottled with 12.5% alcohol, this is a medium-bodied dry Riesling with stunningly fresh acidity that gives the wine a leaner, finer character than expected from the nose. Sourced from own vines in the crus Erdener Treppchen and Lösnicher Försterlay, the wine is firm yet always fresh and finishes with an intense fruit aroma yet is neither too powerful nor too complex for a pleasing drink. This 2019 is definitely born under the the sun but kept the lightness and finesse of a Mosel classic. 10,000 bottles made.
