The latest release in the Anthology series is a 13-year-old Islay single malt fully matured in a combination of ex-bourbon and Sauternes casks. The result is a burnished gold hue and aromas of peat smoke and iodine that mingle with almond. The palate opens with chewy almond-nougat notes, plus toothsome vanilla bean. What starts as a modest amount of peat smoke turns to billowing embers with repeated sips: think vanilla-cream pie sitting in a smokehouse. New release August 2023.

The nose kicks off with a cloud of sawdust, which soon opens up to orange peel, Orange & Creme Creme Savers, vanilla frosting, and a splash of pickle juice. The palate has fantastic texture, and it’s further bolstered by delicious flavors of cinnamon, candied orange, trail mix, peanut shells, and Justin’s peanut butter cup. The finish brings back that initial wood, adding Lemonhead candies, lemon rind, and unsweetened black iced tea.
