Good price. Quick delivery. I haven't opened the wine yet, so can't comment on its condition, but I assume it will be good.

I’ve been a customer for decades and have ordered for delivery just a few times. This time, I received an “order shipped” email but NO notification that. It was delivered to the pick up location. I checked today and it was delivered 4 days ago! But I got no text or email to tell me… yeah, I checked spam. That’s just weird.

Everything arrived nicely! Nothing broken. Exactly what I ordered. Better prices than New York. Penelope Creme Brulee was a great deal. I also bought Mount Gay Eclipse Navy Strength Rum because it's hard to find in near by stores.

B21 has an enormous selection of wines and alcohol at great prices. Their shipping is fast and well packaged. Website needs a little IT help as if you don't search exactly as it appears, nothing will come up. Other than that B21 is highly recommended.

2023 Ridge Lytton Springs (750ml)

Zinfandel from Dry Creek, California

B-21 Top Recommendation
Read More

Is there a more consistently excellent estate in California than Ridge Vineyards? You'd be hard-pressed to make an argument otherwise. Decades of category-defining class and substance have resulted in untold numbers of awards and accolades, so it's no surprise to see them once again at the head of the class in this year's Wine Spectator Top 100 with the 2023 Lytton Springs Estate Red. The 2023 marks a high-water mark for this California original, not only with the Spectator accolades but also a towering 98 points from Jeb Dunnuck's new California critic, Virginie Boone. Most incredibly, the Lytton Springs remains one of the great QPR stars in California wine, and that continues with this sub-$50 parcel of the "stunning" 2023.

You could fairly call pretty much any Zinfandel in Ridge's line-up an icon of the category, but the 2023 Geyserville truly stands alone as Ridge's longest-standing, oldest cuvée, produced continuously since 1966. From three adjoining parcels in Alexander Valley on alluvial soil deposited by the Russian River Valley, the triple 95-point 2023 Geyserville is emblematic of the full potential of California Zin. "It truly offers the perfect balance of dark fruit and freshness, within a full-bodied richness and structure still built for aging, as with all Ridge wines," notes Virginie Boone. In short, as Vinous' Billy Norris puts it, "Virile and intense, this is a monster wine that's only at the very beginning of its evolution."

The 2023 Three Valleys continues this entry-level cuvées record and reputation as a superb bang-for-the-buck choice, thanks not only to Ridge's unparalleled vineyard sources in Alexander Valley, Dry Creek Valley, and Russian River Valley, but also to their commitment to the same meticulous winemaking that goes into their top bottlings. Notching a pair of 93-point scores from Wine Spectator and Jeb Dunnuck, it's "complex and less rustic than usual, the vintage showing classic charm and elegance." In a category that too often sees explosive fruit bombs with alcohol approaching jet fuel levels, you can always depend on Ridge to stay true to proper California Zin form – vivid varietal character, undeniable charm and approachability, and world-class value.

While Ridge's most acclaimed and well-known bottlings come from their prized Sonoma sites, they also have access to prime fruit from further south, namely the famed Dusi Vineyard in Paso Robles. True to Ridge's top-tier standards, they aren't aiming for Sonoma Zin from Paso with this bottling. It's pure Dusi Zin all the way, the kind we know and love from other Zin wizards like Turley. The double 94-point 2023 Paso Robles Zinfandel is "sleek and vibrant" with an effortless personality defined by its "impressive persistence, energy and palpable tannic grip." Of course, Ridge's hallmark balanced style is also evident in a "a beaming, succulent palate lined with invigorating acidity that runs through the elegant, refreshing finish."

Any way you look at it, Ridge's reference-point excellence is primed and ready to go in any and all of these exceptional bottlings from a great vintage.

Blending 76% Zinfandel, 14% Petite Sirah, 7% Carignane, 2% Alicante Bouschet and 1% Mataro from an estate vineyard in Dry Creek Valley purchased in 1972, the 2023 Zinfandel Lytton Springs exhibits initial chewiness that leads to fine tannins, with a good heft and underlying acidity. Well-woven oak supports a moderately ripe, medium-bodied frame of structured elegance, aged in 100% air-dried American oak. Enjoy now through 2033.

98 points, Virginie Boone, Jeb Dunnuck (Apr 2025)

A much cooler growing season delayed the start of harvest by about a month, resulting in a wine with greater restraint than the previous vintage. The 2023 is a more elegant take on this wine, with less fruit intensity, but still unmistakably Ridge. Fresh aromas of herbs from a bouquet garni mix with earthy tones and subtle sweet notes from baking spices. The fruit profile oscillates between ripe red and black berries, with a touch of plums and ripe cherries. Tannins are firm yet polished, and there's a soft creaminess to the palate. A wine that is balanced and quite enjoyable now, with many years to evolve in the bottle.

96 points, Ana Carolina Quintela, Decanter (Apr 2025)

Deeply structured and full of tension, this polished red displays a distinctive personality, offering bold blackberry flavors accented with savory anise, black pepper and dark Asian spices. Ends with big but refined tannins. Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, Carignane, Alicante Bouschet and Mataro. Drink now through 2035. 11,000 cases made.

95 points, Tim Fish, Wine Spectator (Aug 2025)

#3 - Wine Spectator Top 100 of 2025

The 2023 Lytton Springs is powerfully aromatic and expressive from the jump. It explodes from the glass with dark blue fruit, lavender and blood orange peel, framed by mocha-like richness and a wave of exotic spice. The texture is pure silk, wrapping the palate with seamless contours and lifted freshness courtesy of the cool growing season. A blend of 76% Zinfandel, 14% Petite Sirah, 7% Carignane, 2% Alicante Bouschet and 1% Mataro, the 2023 shows remarkable persistence and poise. If you know Lytton, you know these wines can age for decades—this one is clearly built for the long haul.

95 points, Billy Norris, Vinous (Oct 2025)

A lovely release with lots of freshness from a cooler vintage. Bright and perfumed aromas of red cherries, raspberry coulis, confit plums, licorice and spice. The palate is full-bodied with finely tuned tannins and vibrant, crunchy acidity.

95 points, James Suckling (May 2025)

The 2023 Lytton Springs is a blend of 76% Zinfandel, 14% Petite Sirah, 7% Carignane, 2% Alicante Bouschet and 1% Mataro that matured for 16 months in 19% new air-dried American oak. It’s especially elegant and expressive this year, offering pure aromas of black cherry, blueberry, damp earth, sage, violet and cast iron. The full-bodied palate features concentrated, fragrant flavors. It’s framed by fine, chalky tannins and vibrant acidity and has a long finish replete with soaring floral perfume. It should be long lived in the cellar.

94 points, Erin Brooks, Wine Advocate (Sep 2025)
