This was one of the first wines Jayson Woodbridge (of Hundred Acre fame) conjured up for his new Summer Dreams label because he loves to stargaze during the summer months. Like what the stargazer sees, this wine offers a multidimensional scope. It’s super aromatic, with a mystical stardust minerality that elevates it. Fabulous rich cedarwood, toffee, and brown spices mixed with cigar box and dried violets, accented by rich conifer notes. The wine has a beautifully structured framework of sappy tannins, supporting plush, brown-spice-scented red berry fruit with impressive length and laser focus. It’s like going to a concert in the Sphere in Las Vegas. In 2019, Jayson Woodbridge of Hundred Acre began producing Chardonnay and Pinot Noir under the Summer Dreams label, using fruit from cool-climate vineyards on the extreme Sonoma Coast. This 100% Pinot Noir from the West Sonoma Coast is crafted from whole berries, fermented in open-top tanks and puncheons, using a mix of Demptos, Taransaud, and Cavin barrels. The wine is bottled unfined.

Leading off the Pinot Noirs, the 2022 Pinot Noir Stargazing sports a vivid ruby hue to go with a gorgeous nose of ripe framboise, rose petals, flowers, baking spices, and redcurrants. This carries to a medium to full-bodied Pinot Noir with remarkable purity, a soft, lush, elegant mouthfeel, and a great finish.
