Vigneron Marc-Olivier Buffet's viticulture and winemaking imbue his wines with vivacity and grace, traits not altogether common in this part of Burgundy, and this parcel of his flagship Volnays demonstrates exactly why the region's leading critical voices are so bullish on the future of the domaine. The "racy, delicious, and refined" village Volnay is a perfect introduction to Buffet's style, earning Oustanding and Top Value designations from Burghound, but the 1ers crus truly show a level class and sophistication that sets these wines apart from others in their price tier.
