The 2021 Rosso di Montepulciano opens with a zesty blend of crushed cherries, spiced orange peels, minty herbs and damp earth aromas. This is juicy and fresh, with ripe wild berry fruits and hints of red plum over a tactile core of saline minerality. It finishes impactfully with medium length, leaving a tinge of sour citrus and a slight green streak to linger on. Two bottles were tasted with similar results.
