A complex and layered wine with graphite, wild dark fruit, earthy notes and a bright blueberry core. Medium-bodied with firm, velvety tannins, crisp acidity and an extracted palate that’s balanced by supple fruit concentration. There is a lot of substance as well as harmony. Ready to drink now, but juicy and extracted for aging.

The 2020 Carignano del Sulcis Riserva Is Solinas is a dark and brooding beast. Notes of incense, tobacco and exotic spice open the stage, giving way to hints of dried black cherry and blood orange. Silken textures envelop the palate with polished, ripe red berry fruit tones and a touch of dark chocolate that adds a lovely, bitter balance. Fine-grained tannins frame the finish, leaving nuances of cocoa and clove as the 2020 tapers classically structured and dry. The Is Solinas is the hidden gem of the Argiolas portfolio.

Vibrant and silky, this juicy red reveals a beam of raspberry coulis flavors. Finely balanced, with good weight and focus on the palate, but still light on its feet. Offers an underpinning of fresh loamy earth and details of dried lavender, milk chocolate and ground anise and pepper, which add complexity and linger on the finish. Drink now through 2034. 3,000 cases made, 360 cases imported.
