Strong flavors of caramel toffee and vanilla bean dance around the front of the palate in this intensely built, well-structured wine from the great mountain site. Compact tannins and well-integrated oak contribute additionally bold flavor and texture, with a finishing touch of sage and iron. Enjoy best 2029–2039.

The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Stagecoach Vineyard is also outstanding, with bright blue fruits, plums, chocolate, and some classic mountain minerality all showing on the nose. Uber-ripe, opulent, and full-bodied, it needs a touch more freshness and vibrancy, but it has solid tannins as well as mid-palate depth, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see this show even better with 3-5 years of bottle age.
