The wine is/was great! B‑21 lets you know the rating (and the prices which are usually great) so you know what you are getting. I also try to order on a free shipping day. This time it made me a little nervous since the wine box was 10 or so hours late. But it got here, which is what counts (all bottles intact). A local G‑Store has wine sales for 25% off but rarely have wine as good as B‑21's

Featured here, a 1er cru from each side of Pommard. From the Beaune side of Pommard located just off the main road to town from the north, Courcel owns a dozen acres here. Confusing nomenclature with Les Epenots - there is Grand Epenots and Petit Epenots, then the monopole of another spelling - Clos de Epeneaux which is comprised of both Grand and Petit Epenots. Further, Courcel refers to their wine as Les Grand Clos des Epenots, which is located in Petit Epenots. Regardless, the wines are surely Pommard-powered with Beaune grace and silk – Beaune Clos des Mouches is contiguous. On the Volnay side of the Pommard village is Les Croix Noires, a 3.2 acre vineyard with two other owners Lucien Boillot and Domaine Parent. Near Rugiens there is that power, moderated with the Volnay perfume and finesse.
