Exhibiting more red fruit but still showing ample darker fruit, spice, and dried flowers, the 2022 Saint Joseph Clos Florentin is medium to full-bodied and has these supple, velvety tannins on the palate that really set this cuvée apart from the Estate release. Coming from the Clos Florentin vines located on the flatter, sandier soils south of Mauve, it shows the round, ripe, seductive, and sexy style of this cuvée and is going to shine over the coming 10-12 years or more. Drink 2025-2037.

The 2022 Saint-Joseph Le Clos Florentin reveals a somber, complex bouquet of spices, iris, violet, dark berries and mulberries mingled with delicate notes of chocolate. Medium to full-bodied, structured and compact, it's rich and opulent with a vibrant, perfumed mid-palate framed by velvety, youthful tannins, concluding with a long, mineral and coniferous forest-inflected finish. Currently introverted, which is typical at this stage, it requires time to integrate its élevage and fully adjust to its recent bottling.

The standout 2022 Saint-Joseph Clos Florentin is medium- to full-bodied, with pristine aromas of dried violet, red plum, forest floor and pencil shaving. Silky tannins and uplifting freshness define its noble character, offering class and complexity. Concluding with energy and precision on the refined finish, the 2022 is a brilliant Clos Florentin worth seeking out.

Violets and menthol on the palate, within soft, juicy, succulent tannins. The acidity is a little lower and alcohol a little higher than recent vintages. Nevertheless, a beautiful wine that may score higher after bottling.
