A lovely vibrant mid purple. A touch of oak on the nose but otherwise a fine and graceful red berry fruit. It is understated, fine but not the most intense. Still, this will emerge as a charming and graceful Echezeaux in the medium term. Drink from 2030-2038. Tasted Nov 2023.

The 2022 Echézeaux En Orveaux Grand Cru has a very satisfying bouquet, beautifully defined, with lifted brambly red fruit, sous-bois and incense aromas. The palate is well delineated and linear in style, with gentle grip. Perhaps it just requires a tad more flesh on the finish, but I feel this is only because this Echézeaux is a bit closed at the moment. Good potential—patience required. Tasted at merchants' 2022 Burgundy tastings in London.
