Plenty of personality and great value here. After an initially sweet-fruited nose with plum, blackberry, cranberry, vanilla and a hint of smoky iodine, comes a savoury, textural palate. This is quite a rich wine with more than a hint of earth and forest floor complexity. There’s a lot more going on than just fruity charm and its palate really shines with excellent balance and structure, settling happily into the glass with additional time and air. Dry-farmed and organic, Clos Henri is owned by Sancerre’s Bourgeois family.
