At 22 years of age, this rye has developed into a full-blown, intense and aromatic whiskey: dark, lusciously rich and with wonderful oak flavor. Even though the oak aging is apparent and the flavors have a toasty oak taste, the oak does not overpower the exotic and deep straight rye flavor. The whisky enters the palate with warmth and then works back from the rear of the palate to cover the entire palate with rich, multi-layered flavors.
Deep, dark rich tones with a forward, in-your-face style that's brash and wonderful - this is how 'old school' rye was meant to be! Toasted grains with caramel, toffee, and smoky oak with a lush and angular texture accented by a black pepper, nutmeg and clove.
