I love the dark fruits in this, with loads of black olive and red fruits too. Full-bodied, but so refined and delicious already. Lovely length. 100 percent Merlot. 90-93 Points, The Wine Spectator (Mar 2010)
(100% merlot) Ruby-red. Pure, refined merlot aromas of blackcurrant, cherry and flowers. Easygoing and fruit-driven, with plenty of personality to its dark berry, violet and coffee flavors. Not hugely complex but bright acidity extends the zippy finish. From 30-year-old vines grown in the area of Saint-Etienne de Lisse, on cold clay-rich soils. The warm, clement fall enabled Denis Durantou (also owner of L'Eglise-Clinet) to delay the harvest of these grapes until the second week of October. 87 Points, Ian D'Agata for Stephen Tanzer's Int'l Cellar |
