Alessandro Bocci, owner and winemaker at Perazzeta, is in our opinion, making some of the best wines in all of Tuscany right now. Located in Montecucco just south of Montalcino, his wines have tremendous power, tension, and assertive terroir. Bright, stinging cherry, crisp acidity, and tantalizing earth tones make this pretty, yet interesting wine hard to resist. The everyday wine of the estate, “Sara” is named after his teenage daughter, and is a tremenous follow-up to his wildly popular “Rita” (his wife, mother), first released in 2005. 90% sangiovese, and 10% ciliegiolo, a native red variety. The fermentation temperature is very carefully controlled; after pressing off, it is racked into large oak barrels, where it rests and matures until the following spring, when it is bottled. Colour: Ruby Bouquet: Generous, heady and warm, fruit-laden. Palate: Full-bodied, dry.

Bright, juicy cherry and strawberry aromas and flavors highlight this elegant red. A touch of spice enlivens the finish. Sangiovese and Ciliegiolo. Drink now. Tasted twice, with consistent notes. 2,000 cases made.
