With 60,000 cases imported, this should be an easy find that’s well worth the money. Black currant leaf, dark plum flesh and baked fruitcake fill out the nose and mouth, while a touch of milk chocolate enriches the finish. Balanced and drinkable now with medium weight and approachable tannins.

Bright dark red. Currant, blackberry and licorice aromas show a candied quality and a touch of reduction. In a sweetish style, with good intensity and harmonious acidity to the dark berry flavors. Hints of menthol and mint on the slightly stunted finish. Will this reduced wine show more give with another 6 to 12 months in bottle?

This 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon has good fruit concentration on the nose with ripe raspberry, wild strawberry, cedar and a touch of tobacco. The palate is clean and fleshy on the entry with rounded plump strawberry fruit dominating the mid-palate and a clean, persistent commercial finish that attests to conscientious winemaking. Drink now-2013. This Robertson based winery owned by Freddie and Peter de Wet offers two sub-ten dollar wines that are worth every cent.
