The 2008 Cherry Red is overshadowed, of course, by the profound 2007, but it is again very successful. The blend this year is 58% Zinfandel, 20% Mourvedre, 15% Syrah, and the rest Petite Sirah. It is more restrained and elegant than its older sibling, with loads of raspberries and black cherries intermixed with sandy, loamy soil notes, medium to full body, sweet tannins, and a stylish graceful finish. Drink it over the next 4-5 years. 90 points, Wine Advocate # 190, Aug 2010
Loaded with personality, if a bit untamed, offering boysenberry and smoky cracked pepper aromas and concentrated plum, earthy loam and licorice flavors. Zinfandel, Mourvèdre, Syrah and Petite Sirah. Best from 2012 through 2016. 320 cases made. 89 points, Wine Spectator, Mar 31, 2011
(58% Zinfandel, 20% Mourvedre, 15% Syrah, 7% Petite Syrah) This lush and young beauty first strikes with hints of black cherry, tar and cinnamon. Its velvet texture is packed with natural acidity and hints of smoked American wood. This wine is a dreamer and a believer all in the same glass. Dancing with a series of spins and flowing grace, Cherry Red will remind you why you fell in love with wine.
