This deep, plum/ruby/purple-colored 2008 is another sleeper of the vintage. It possesses bacon fat, cedarwood, black currant and cherry characteristics along with medium body, abundant rich fruit, and an exuberant, flamboyant style. Composed of 98% Merlot and 2% Cabernet Sauvignon that hit 14.5% natural alcohol, it should drink well for 10-12 years. 89 Points, The Wine Advocate (2011).
This bold red delivers big, ripe flavors of blackberry and boysenberry, with licorice, tobacco and dark chocolate notes. The tannins are muscular and chewy, but give way to floral and mineral on the fresh, clean finish. Best from 2014 through 2022. 91 Points, The Wine Spectator (Dec 2010)
