60% Garnacha, 40% Carinena
A perfectly ripe wine with silken flesh and a hedonistically lush palate feel, and a long, fresh finish. Grenache flavors and Pinot Noir texture. The best $20 Priorat I have tasted...better than 90% at $90 in fact.

Marc Ripoll Sans’ 2008 lack Slate from the Priorat village of Porrera is composed of 60% Garnacha and 40% Carinena aged for 12 months in used French oak. It displays intense black fruit aromas along with slate/mineral, Asian spices, and incense. Made in a slightly racy style, it has plenty of savory fruit, good balance, and a pure, lengthy finish. It will deliver plenty of enjoyment over the next 6-8 years.

Deep ruby. Pungent dark fruits and smoky minerals on the nose, with a hint of dried flowers adding complexity. Then brighter in the mouth, offering dense, sweet black raspberry and bitter chocolate flavors and a late note of zesty minerality. Rich but animated, with very good finishing clarity and cut.
