Strong colour; has considerable richness and depth to bouquet and palate alike; plummy black fruits are supported by positive oak and emphatic tannins; long-lived style sure to improve. Drink 2027. 93 points, James Halliday for the Australian Wine Companion (Mar 09)
Ruby-red. Bright red berry and floral aromas are complicated by notes of white pepper, oak spice, herbs and tobacco. Sweet red berry flavors are supported by tangy acidity, showing good concentration without coming off as weighty. Finishes long and brisk, with good tannic grip and repeating notes of pepper and herbs. I'd give this relatively cool, restrained wine a couple years to unwind. 90(+?) points - Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar, Jul/Aug 10 |
