An unusually high-toned nose for a classic Echézeaux of cranberry and raspberry laced with warm earth, clove and cinnamon hints merges into fresh, round and mouth filling middle weight flavors that possess impressive volume and like the Suchots, plenty of extract that does a competent job of buffering the underlying structure. This is delicious and serious and while certainly very good, it lacks the depth it needs to be truly great. This too should benefit from 6 to 8 years of cellar time.89-92 Points, Allen Meadows' Bourghound, Issue#33
Good deep red. Wild, expressive aromas of raspberry, redcurrant and smoked meat; slightly reduced. Supple, sweet and pure, if a bit less complex than the Suchots. But the finish shows precise red fruit flavors and a bit more definition and minerality than the Suchots, which had not yet been sulfited. 89-92 Points, Steven Tanzers' International Wine Cellar, Mar/Apr 09
