Bright ruby. Lively raspberry, cherry and rose aromas are complemented by notes of star anise, candied flowers and white pepper. Impressively pure and precise on the palate, offering sweet red and dark berry flavors and an absence of rough edges. Finishes juicy, pliant and very long, with repeating notes of red fruits and spices. This unadorned and understated wine should be drinkable soon after release.

The 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape is performing even better from bottle than it did last year – a characteristic of a majority of Chateauneuf du Papes in this historically great vintage. A blend of 90% Grenache, 5% Syrah, and 5% Mourvedre from 60-year-old vines aged in foudres and old, small wood barrels, this sexy, lush wine is bursting with black and red fruits, smoked herbs, meat juices, and spring flower characteristics. The velvety texture, voluptuous mouthfeel, good acids, stunning richness, and ethereal finish represent the finest Chateauneuf du Pape Domaine Eddie Feraud has yet produced. Consume it over the next 15+ years.
