Mild reduction knocks down the expressiveness of the nose though there is good freshness and vibrancy to the very rich, full and pungently earthy flavors that completely coat the mouth on the beguilingly textured, intense and palate staining finish that delivers huge length though there is a slight trace of warmth discernable right at the very end. Still, this is blessed with so much material that this should impress. Note that I strongly suggest decanting this for at least 30 minutes first if you elect to try a bottle in its youth. 92 Points, Allen Meadows' Burghound (Apr 2009)
Medium red. Musky aromas of red fruits complicated by soil nuances. Juicy but on the lean side, with an attractive wildness and a less refined texture than the Chambolle. Finishes with dusty, slightly dry tannins and good length. This showed more body as it opened in the glass. 89 Points, Stephen Tanzer's Int'l Cellar
