Smoky and dark, with serious aromas of black licorice, earth and lush berry. The palate has a great feel to it along with huge flavors of cassis, blackberry, black peppercorn, coffee and sweet coconut. It’s stellar from front to back, with coffee, mocha and silky tannins on the finish. Composed of 60% Malbec with 35% Cabernet Sauvignon and small parts Tannat and Petit Verdot. Drink now through 2013.

93 points - Wine Enthusiast (December 31, 2010)

The 2007 Decero Amano Remolinos Vineyard is composed of 60% Malbec, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, with the balance Petit Verdot and Tannat that was aged for 22 months in new French oak. Opaque purple-colored, it displays an alluring bouquet of pain grille, pencil lead, espresso roast, violets, black cherry, and blackberry. This leads to a layered, dense, powerful wine with a smooth texture, outstanding depth and concentration, and a lengthy, fruit-filled finish. Give it 4-6 years in the cellar and drink it from 2014 to 2022.

92 points - The Wine Advocate (December 2010)

Solid, with a core of dark plum, boysenberry and fig fruit laced with spice and licorice snap notes. Toasty but integrated, with nice weight on the finish. Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot and Tannat. Drink now through 2011. 450 cases imported.

90 points - Wine Spectator (May 31, 2010)

(a blend based on 60% malbec, aged 22 months in new French oak) Deep ruby-red. Dark cherry, currant, mocha, leather, violet and smoky, spicy oak on the nose, plus a whiff of caraway seed. Suave on entry, then tight and minerally in the middle, with lovely lift and perfume to the black raspberry, dark chocolate and graphite flavors. An edge of acidity restrains the wine's sweetness but elevates the impression of inner-mouth perfume. This has the intensity, structure and length to reward a few years of cellaring.

90 points - Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar (Jan/Feb 10)
