"The 2006 Roquers de Porrera is 80% Garnacha and Carinena from the estate’s older vines with the balance Merlot and Syrah. The wine was aged for 16 months in seasoned French oak. A deep garnet color, it reveals an intense nose of slate/mineral, underbrush, incense, blueberry, and black cherry. Velvety-textured, elegant, and intensely flavored, this represents the more feminine side of Priorat. It will evolve for several years and offer prime drinking from 2011 to 2021." 93 points - Robert Parker's The Wine Advocate, Issue 183, June 2009
(80% garnacha, the rest syrah and merlot) Inky violet. Mineral-driven aromas of red and dark berries, Indian spices and rose. Deep and weighty but surprisingly lively, offering sweet raspberry and cherry flavors, slow-mounting spiciness and a zesty graphite note. Manages to be rich and lively at the same time, and finishes with strong lift and cut. I'd hold this for another couple years. 92 Points, Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar, Sep/Oct 09 |
