"The 2005 Riesling Heimbourg displays a lovely and unusual sense of generous ripeness even though it has barely over 12% alcohol, and its eleven grams of residual sugar can scarcely be detected. Some fermentative aromas still cling to the glass, but grapefruit, peppermint, vanilla, and brown-spiced plum emerge and follow the juicy, succulent course of this delightful Riesling into a lip-smacking yet chalk-, mineral-drenched, and white pepper-tinged finish. There is a superficial resemblance to Gruner Veltliner in the meld of nutmeg and white pepper on display here, and this refined, generous Riesling should be a delight for at least 5-7 years." 91 points - Robert Parker's The Wine Advocate, Issue 175 |
