"Fresh and focused, this firm red delivers ripe black cherry and blackberry fruit, backed by espresso and licorice accents, finishing with alluring notes of sous-bois and mineral. This has depth and drive. Drink now through 2016." 94 points - Wine Spectator, Aug 31, 2010
Enrique Andrades is winemaker at this promising young estate founded only a decade ago. Although 10 acres of vines have been planted around the winery, the red wines currently rely on grapes contracted from almost 200 acres of vines belonging to local growers. These sites are managed by Resalte de Peñafiel and contain 25-year-old vines. Andrades aged the 2005 Crianza for 15 months in French (80 percent) and American oak, of which a third was new, a third one year old, and a third two years old. |
