Le Bord'Eaux is an outstanding value. 100% Merlot and 100% estate bottled from delineated sources on the eastern side of Bordeaux, it comes from a 10.5 hectare section of a 13.5 ha vineyard site. Estate bottled wine at $9.99 (try that trick in sunny California!)? The disposition of the wine is easy. It is perfectly ripe, has a chocolate-y core quality, some mineral notes, and a supple texture. If there is any fault, and this is when the downside is the upside, the wine is to drink up and is not so structured. The undemanding quality will make some converts.
