2004 JJ Prum Wehlener Sonnenuhr Auslese (Mosel): I was privileged enough to taste this spectacular Auslese with Manfred Prum at his estate in 2005. Manfred's ability to extract so much concentration and flavor out of his estate's vineyard holdings is unprecedented in Germany. It has great purity and length of apricot, lemon and orange peel spice, and the crispness of an Empire apple drizzled with wildflower honey. Wait about 3 years before drinking then enjoy over the next 50+ years.

2004 JJ Prum Wehlener Sonnenuhr Auslese (Mosel): Fine bouquet of ripe apple, vanilla and sweet herbs. The palate is rich, with a salty, resinous character complementing the undeniably sweet apricot fruit. Unctuous yet lively auslese with a long, complex finish. Needs time.
