2003 Domaine de Fauterie Cornas: This is another example of how perfect 2003 was for the rustic wines of Cornas, which tend to be remarkably civilized and super-endowed with no hard edges, something I have never before seen in twenty-six years of tastings. Proprietor Sylvan Bernau has produced a black/purple-colored 2003 boasting a tremendous perfume of liqueur of black fruits intermixed with scents of flowers, roasted meats, and scorched earth. Dense and chewy with voluminous levels of glycerin, superb purity, and low acidity, this is a mouth-saturating red to drink over the next 10-12 years. 90-92 points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate #156 (DEC 2004)
