Has finesse and elegance, but - surprisingly - seems to lack the fruit concentration of the very best wines of the vintage; blackberry and spice; good balance and length; controlled oak. Drink 2015. 92 points, James Halliday for the Australian Wine Companion
"Exuberant, layered, and full-throttled is the 2002 Shiraz. Produced from 20-year-old vines cropped at 1.8 tons of fruit per acre, it exhibits a dense purple color in addition to a big, peppery, black currant and berry-scented nose with notions of white flowers and licorice in the background. Deep and chewy, with low acidity and medium to full body, this impressive 2002 will drink well for a decade." 91 points - Robert M. Parker, Jr.'s, The Wine Advocate, Issue 155 |
