"Best Talbot in years. Beautiful aromas of crushed berries, Indian spices, crushed flowers and raspberries. Full-bodied, with a solid core of ripe fruit and silky tannins. Long and delicious. Best after 2010." 93 Points. The Wine Spectator (2003)
"This was a strong performance (better than my original notes suggested) by the 2000 Talbot. Close to full maturity, it exhibits a dense ruby/plum/purple color in addition to a subtle herbaceousness intermixed with smoked meats, black currants, licorice, cedar, and foresty notes. Rich and full-bodied with light tannins, and a slightly richer, more savory, broader, deeper style than I remember, it should drink well for 10-15 years. 93 Points, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (Jun 2010)
St-Julien is one of my favorite appellations of Bordeaux; elegance, finesse and a subtle strength are all defining characteristics, and a predominance of Cabernet varietal flavor... Talbot is not a trendsetter or a trendy wine. It is one I keep going back to over the years. The 2000 is as successful as you would imagine. It is full, supple and classic, a very-well balanced act. 93 Points, Rhett Beiletti, B-21 |
