After co-founding Frog's Leap Winery in Napa in the 1980s, Larry Turley's passion to produce an artisan, old-vine Zin led him to sell his partnership share in Frog's Leap and establish Turley Wine Cellars in 1993 with 5 acres of the original frog farm and winery, focusing on the recovery of California's historic vineyards and expanding to over 75 acres of organically farmed vineyards.
