Picked in the lower part of the cru that is located next to the Mosel and is sensible for botrytis, the 2016 Erdener Prälat Riesling Auslese Alte Reben Gold Capsule was picked around the 6th of November and is based on 20% of botrytis. The wine has a very ripe, intense but clear and elegant nose. Piquant and salty on the palate, this is a rich and mouth-filling Auslese with remarkable precision and serious tannin grip. It's far too young to be enjoyed today, and the acidity tastes almost racy, although it's analytically not that high. Very elegant and full of potential. Total production: 500 liters. Tasted February 2018.
