The NV Champagne Les Côtes Chéries Brut Nature pours a bright yellow color and offers notes of toasted incense, spice, tropical fruit, and orange zest. Medium-bodied, it shines brightly with a refined pinpoint mousse, focused intensity, and salivating minerality that floats long through the finish. It is an exceptional wine in the range that I would be thrilled to have in my cellar, and I expect it will only improve and gain depth over the next few years. Drink 2026-2040. Composed of 100% Meunier from the 2019 vintage, from Gueux, from Les Béguines and Les Côtes Chênes vineyards with sélection massale vines planted in 1984, it was aged in demi-muids from the Tronçais forest near Sancerre, before resting in the cellar for two years on lees under cork closure. Tasted as a preview of this release, it was disgorged 10 days prior to my visit to the estate for this tasting.

The NV (2019) Les Côtes Chéries is 100% Meunier from a parcel in Gueux planted in 1984. A wine of textural resonance and breadth, the Côtes Chéries captures Lamblot's style at its very best. There's gorgeous depth here. Zero dosage. Disgorged: April 2, 2024.

Exclusively crafted from the 2019 vintage, Lamblot's NV Brut Nature Les Côtes Chéries is sourced from a vineyard in Gueux, near the lieu-dit Les Béguines, where Pinot Meunier was planted in 1984 on a very deep sandy soil and was once home to cherry trees. Vinified for two years in 600-liter demi-muids made from Bertranges forest oak, the wine reveals a deep bouquet of pear, tangerine zest, mirabelle plum and spices. On the palate, it is medium to full-bodied and concentrated yet elegant, with a pillowy mousse, finishing with a sapid, mineral aftertaste. Compared to Frénésie, it is more seamless and complete. It was disgorged in April 2024.
