Massive hit of pine, mango, bready, tobacco, tangerine, alcohol. Smooth, creamy, bitter, hop oil, leafy, orange pith, pine sap, pipe tobacco, bready, faint toasted biscuits, estery, long hop finish. Expected from Lagunitas; heavy hand of hops and semi-aggressive alcohol ... but does it have a big enough malt backbone to stand up to this? Barely which is true to the DIPA style in a way. It works because the hop flavor is pushed to the front just above the 63.21 IBUs. I would think any higher and this beer would start to lose it. Sad to not see Brown Shugga' but this makes for a good replacement.

Lively fresh grass and orange scents elevate a punchy onion-laced aroma. On the tongue, sweet, doughy malts prop up hoppy tangerine tones; toasted malts build mid-sip, adding depth to the swallow. Hints of pineapple emerge in the back before sneaky bitterness wraps up this relatively smooth imperial IPA.
