Well rounded bitterness is the first to be noticed, smooth malt sweetness lines the palate with tones of biscuits and raw honey. Hops are very flavourful ranging form coarse bitterness to citrus, mildly minty to raw herbal. Touch of yeast and fruity esters show its ale prowess. Fresh and in your face, a real American ale to be had here and one that I will happily make space in my beer fridge for.

While not as robust as an IPA, this bold pale ale still packs a hefty hop punch. A wonderful hop bouquet of grassy, minty scents blends with bread crust notes for a substantial aroma. Toasted bread spreads out on the tongue before sweet orange takes control. Deep bitterness works the tongue over, cutting through the malt and making room for more grassy hops to blossom in the back. Finishing clean with lingering bitterness, Liberty is a prime example of the West Coast’s hoppy signature.
