This starts quite gently on the very focused, medium-bodied palate. Then, just when you think it’s safe to go back in the water, a giant wave of spices and chalky minerality washes over you. Ripe yet attractively fresh aromas are comprised by notes of prominent mineral reduction, citrus confit, pear and a wonderfully broad array of floral elements. The mouthfeel of the larger-bodied and solidly concentrated flavors is positively gorgeous while brimming with the hallmark stoniness of a great Chevalier, all wrapped in a precise, firm and hugely long finale.
