The 2023 Saint-Aubin La Chatenière 1er Cru, from 60-year-old vines, has another impressive bouquet that exudes mineralité and terroir. The limestone soils are aromatically articulated. The palate is well balanced with a bright, complex opening. It has a very persistent finish, fine grip and more substance than the Sour Roche Dumary. Yes, yes, yes (I hope that didn't put that scene from When Harry Met Sally in your head, but if it did, then it's merely a measure of my appreciation).
