From the Latin word meaning little hammer, the 2023 Malleolus is also named for a small estate vineyard. The family was one of the first in the region to break with the meaning of Crianza, Reserva, etc. with this wine. Herbal, silky, with bold black fruit and sweet tannins, it’s a full-bodied, highly expressive wine with spicy balsamic richness and well-integrated oak. Drink 2030-2038.
